How to Receive a Homeowner Membership Stipend in CAI

Common interest associations cannot reach their full potential unless board members and homeowners have a good working knowledge of what is involved in running the association. According to the California Law Revision Commission there are over 41,000 CIDs in the state that range in size from three to 27,000 units comprising over 4,000,000 total housing units. Assuming an average of three board members for each association, there are 123,000 volunteer board members with no background in CID governance.

CAI-San Diego is helping to complement Civil Code 1363.001by offering board members and prospective board members education courses for homeowners, who are not current members, to receive a one-year individual homeowner membership in order to participate in all of the benefits of CAI. To be eligible, for this superior learning experience in CID governance, attend three consecutive Homeowners’ Roundtable meetings including any San Diego Chapter educational seminars, mini-trade shows within a six month period.
