Welcome to Community Associations Institute (CAI)

Welcome to the San Diego Chapter of Community Associations Institute.  We are a nationwide non-profit organization dedicated to the education and advocacy of common-interest developments.  The San Diego Chapter has nearly 800 members, including 200 businesses, 170 professional managers from 35 management companies and community volunteers from more than 300 associations throughout San Diego County.

Our Chapter provides education to our members through classes, programs, trade show luncheons as well as books and periodicals.  We host many social events throughout the year, including the Billiards Tournament, Monte Carlo Night and the Golf Tournament to promote networking between businesses and managers in the community association industry.  Our Chapter also holds an event every spring which includes an entire day seminar hosted by a motivational speaker with educational break out sessions.  We have nine committees to assist the Chapter in achieving our vision statement.  They include Marketing/Public Relations, Education Services, Homeowners’ Roundtable, Legislative Action Committee, Magazine Committee, Membership Committee, Billiards Tournament, Golf Tournament, Monte Carlo Night, Awards Nominations and Day at the Races.  This year, the National Community Association Institute will be holding its 59th Annual National Conference and Exposition in Las Vegas, Nevada on April 28- May 1, 2010.   If you are interested in attending, please contact the San Diego Chapter office, or visit www.caionline.org for more information.

With the support of more than 50 state and local chapters nationwide, we are able to provide the most comprehensive and latest information regarding common-interest developments and the community association industry.  We work in tandem with the California Legislative Action Committee (CLAC) to provide timely legislative information through national and local legislative alerts and regular updates in our magazine.
